My friend and sculptor Chris Beards (right) encouraged me to enter something in the Santa Rosa Art Center's Members Show. My drawing, "Shopping Mall Sign," is pictured above. Standing with me are artists Nancy H Dempster and Chris. Chris is really good at paying attention to local art community organizations, supporting them by attending their events, and entering work in local shows, while keeping his own studio activities going strong. I take inspiration from his well-tuned balancing of community spirit and "self nurturing!"
